Our trip to Valley Children's Hospital

This past weekend, our family took a trip out to the hospital where Bastian was diagnosed. As a foundation we donated. We donated to three places. We stopped at the Ronald Mcdonald House, and dropped off food, school supplies, and shoes. Toothpaste, and laundry soap. All donated and purchased by either the generosity of people that love our Bastian, and our friends, who have basically become our family, the Dixon's.

We also did a stop at Valley Children's Hospital. One stop at the hospital itself, and one stop on the oncology floor, where Bastian spent so many days as a patient.

Going back was emotional, and we were greeted by so many familiar faces. This is what our heart needed to heal. Being there was so rewarding. The excitement in the faces of the volunteers and nurses that remembered our family was just what we needed. We cannot explain how much of a home, that place was to us. Sometimes when we would have to check in for a few weeks, I would announce to the nurses, that "we were home."

Our last stop was to the "Sweet eats room, in Memory of Hendrix Wille." This room, holds a special place in our heart. It's a pantry, for caregivers, run solely on donations. This weekend we were able to fill it with food, for families that have children on the oncology floor. It felt so good to give back.

Here are some pictures from this weekend.
